[Late in the day Ronove has been approached for a private conversation and has been dragged off to Ene's dressing room!]

Of course. You seem to have something in mind. What is it?

It's Mary. Lotus has the only vote remaining in the game, and refuses to vote for her for some reason. Probably because of Snake? But she's not committing. You're friends with Mary, aren't you? She's the one who asked me to vote for you last round.

Indeed, she is a friend. I see...so you need me to vote for Mary.

[Ronove thinks for a moment]

I suppose you already made a vote, didn't you? Who're you voting for this time?

[It's impossible for Ene to vote for him, so who is she saving with her vote this time?]

I don't have a vote. I have a hotel pass. But I can't use that on Mary - you've said so yourself, right? For some people, there's just no point in going to the hotel. Mary doesn't want to go there. So I want to use it on Lotus.

[Hey, Mary, you over there?]

What do you think, Mary? Are you okay with Lotus leaving the game?

[But Ronove's also curious about something else...]

Ene, what did you do to get the hotel pass, if I may ask? I didn't notice anything unusual happening today.

[scribbly]

[perks up!! A little distracted, she's clinging uncertainly to Ene's sleeve, but she focuses and nods.]

Yeah. That's okay. [Lotus is well on her way to getting stabbed so this is probably preferable for all parties. She shrinks a little at Ronove's question to Ene, though, because she knows and doesn't especially like the answer.]

[digiteyesed]

[Patting Mary on the back it's okay honey it's gonna be okay] I haven't done it yet, but my plan's approved. They're making a big show of it in the theatre later. I won't spoil the surprise, but don't worry, I'm taking all the penalties on myself. No explosions this time.

[Well, if Mary is fine with it, then Ronove is all for it]

In that case, I support this plan. All I ask for is that Lotus is sent to the hotel. Lotus dying would be...inconvenient.

[Something about that word 'inconvenient' is rather ominous. Ronove's cordial behavior hasn't changed, but the way he said that is quite charged with meaning]

But you have nothing to worry about, Mary. You have my vote. Thank you for your help last round, I will now repay my debt to you.

I wish you the best of luck, Ene. Just in case, I shall stay away of the theatre. This is bound to be interesting to hear about later.

[Ene pulls out her tablet and immediately inputs the hotel pass for Lotus right there and then, holding up the screen for him to see and smiling brightly.] She's all taken care of. I'm glad we could come to this agreement! Thanks Ronove, you're a real life saver.

[scribbly]

It's really okay..? Ah...

[For a moment, she looks a little startled, and just as quickly, Mary's all big bright smiles. The apparent ominousness of their end of the deal doesn't seem to bother her...]

Okay... Okay! Thank you, Ronove. [She tugs a little at Ene's sleeve, and adds, softer:] Thank you, Ene.

[Surviving is great and all but even better is surviving because of friendship. She's thrilled.]

[Ronove bows. This is bound to be a treat to watch, no matter how it ends]

I'm glad Mary's got such good friends here. [Who better take care of her and Ib in my absence because this is definitely sealing my own death!! Giving Mary a side hug from where she is at her sleeve.] Feel better now? You're all taken care of.

[scribbly]

[Mary pauses, then tries to bow back, like she doesn't totally get what's going on here, only to burst into giggles as Ene pulls her into a side hug.]

Yeah, yeah! Good friends, good friends...

[She kind of sing-songs it, utterly delighted. Friendship!! Ene's apparent imminent doom is either not a concern or left a mystery.]

Mary's got the best friends, you guys are the best!
